Note: Editing is charged at a flat rate, the tiers indicate the complexity of an edit and subsequent extra time required. Editing Time = (Finished Minutes × Base Hours) + Extras + Revisions + Technical Time. How Editing Time Is Calculated Editing time is calculated using a transparent formula that scales with both video length and creative complexity: Editing Time = (Finished Minutes × Base Hours) + Extras + Revisions + Technical Time Base Editing Base Editing covers the core work required to produce a professional video, including footage selection, editing, basic audio cleanup, color correction, simple titles, and a standard export. Base editing time is calculated per finished minute and varies depending on the agreed edit level (Basic, Standard, or Pro). Extras Extras include any creative or technical enhancements beyond the core edit, such as motion graphics, advanced color grading, additional versions, or multiple deliverables. Extras are quoted separately to keep costs predictable and fair. Revisions A defined number of revision rounds may be included. Additional revisions are billed separately based on time required. Technical Time Technical time covers media preparation, syncing, exporting, delivery, and other non-creative tasks required to complete the project. This structure ensures that shorter videos with higher creative demands are priced appropriately, while simpler edits remain cost-effective.
Extras
Captioning - £2 per miunte
Captions are a valuable way to improve accessibility, and it’s also worth noting, closed captions are a useful for boosting Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), as it makes it easier for the platforms to understand the content. Open captions are embedded in video – I recommend these for internal training videos but not for content posted online. This is because most online platforms now autogenerate captions which can clash if not switched off. Closed captions can be turned on or off making them the most flexible option, they can be saved as an SRT file and uploaded to online platforms, which will replace autogenerate captions. Synced captions are embedded in the videos, often in the middle of the screen, with the words appearing as they are spoken. This fast-paced option is very popular for social media content Captioning is charged at an hourly rate, open and closed captioning, takes triple the length of the content i.e. if the video is 10 minutes long, it will take 30 minutes to caption, therefore costing £25. Synced captioning can take significantly longer depending on the complexity of the result required, time estimates can be agreed after examples have been seen.
Custom thumbnails - £10
Well-designed thumbnails improve click-through rates (CTR), strengthen your branding, and make your content look more premium and trustworthy. With strong colours, clean text, expressive imagery, and on-brand styling, edited thumbnails significantly boost engagement and help your content stand out in a crowded digital space. Edited thumbnails offer a powerful advantage for any brand or creator because they immediately increase the chances of your video being clicked, watched, and shared. A professionally edited thumbnail grabs attention in busy feeds, clearly communicates the story or value of the video, and establishes a consistent visual identity that viewers recognise.
